2025 SRU Cross Country Camp

Sunday, June 22 - Wednesday, June 25, 2025

Cross Country/Distance Camp

The objective of SRU Cross Country/Distance camp is to educate each individual in various categories that we feel will aid in the development and future success in the sport. The camp will serve as an early preseason conditioning camp for individuals or teams. Training in the camp will be designed to lay the foundation for a successful summer training block. Throughout the week, athletes will learn about running mechanics and drills, race planning and implementation, strength and conditioning, and mental toughness to navigate training and racing. Campers are encouraged to run the minutes or mileage prescribed by their high school coaches.

The camp will be led by SRU XC/Distance coach, Bobby Over. His experience and expertise transformed the SRU program into one of the top distance programs in the Atlantic Region. In his first three years at Slippery Rock, Coach Over led the SRU women’s team to back-to-back PSAC Championships and team berths at the NCAA National Championship. The success on the cross-country course has carried over to multiple PSAC Track Individual Championships, All-Region and All-American Accolades.

Assisting Coach Over will be numerous current and former SRU Student Athletes.

Please note: In an effort to keep the camper to instructor ratio low, the camp will be capped at 80 total athletes. Spots will fill fast, so register ASAP to reserve your spot!
