2025 Summer Camps
Slippery Rock University
Hello! We are excited that you have selected The Macoskey Center as your summer camp destination! Through our summer camps, we aim to inspire children to care for and explore the natural world around them through quality environmental education programming. Please find additional information about the camp week below. Before each camp, we will send you a more detailed schedule, information about how to get to the MC, an introduction to MC staff members, as well as an additional copy of our camp policies and procedures.

Week #2: Fur, Feathers, & Scales - A Summer Safari
Dates: June 23rd-25th
Time: Full Day – 8:30am-3:30pm (5-9 yrs); Half Day Option - 8:30am-12:00pm (4-5 yrs)
Age Groups:
- Kindergarten/Early Elementary (Entering Kindergarten-3rd grade or 4-6 yrs. old)
- Mid/Upper Elementary (Entering 4th-6th grade or 7-9 yrs. old)
Description: Join us for a summer safari and meet amazing PA wildlife! Campers will discover furry, feathery, scaly, and slimy creatures through hands-on activities, games, and outdoor adventures. We’ll learn what makes each animal unique and how they contribute to our local ecosystems. Discover simple ways we can all work together to support wildlife and the environment!
Pricing: The Macoskey Center offers a sliding-scale camp registration pricing model.
Why? A sliding-scale registration fee provides all families with the opportunity to access The Macoskey Center's resources and programming. Our vision is to inspire and create a more JUST and sustainable future, which includes creating more inclusive and equitable access to outdoor spaces and environmental education.
How? Using the chart below, please select the tier that most closely aligns with your annual household gross income and financial situation. These numbers are based on income averages within the Western PA region.

Registration: Register online and pay with a credit or debit card only. If this is not a possibility for you, then please contact The Macoskey Center.
Refund/Cancellation Policy: If you cancel your registration more than two weeks before camp, then you will be given a refund minus $50 as a non-refundable deposit for administrative and processing fees. If you cancel your registration less than two weeks before camp, then you will not receive a refund and the funds will be used for future programming and educators. If any camp participant reaches the 3rd level of alleged misconduct as outlined in our MC Summer Camp Policies & Procedures then they will be dismissed from camp without a refund.
