2025 SRU Track & Field: Vaulters Weekend

Friday, June 27 - Sunday, June 29, 2025

Slippery Rock University would like to invite all local pole vaulters to join us for the upcoming 2025 camp season. Over the last 30+ years the SRU Pole Vault camp has helped to develop some of the state's best vaulters while providing many young athletes with the opportunity to learn from the best coaches in the area. Over the last 17 seasons, the SRU Vault squad has recorded 32 PSAC Champions, 73 - Provisional NCAA DII Qualifiers, 40 – NCAA DII Qualifiers and 20 NCAA DII All AMERICANS. Most notably, SRU athletes have WON TWO NCAA DII NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS, Cameron Daugherty 2012, and Courtney McQuaide 2018. We look forward to teaching the technique that has led so many Rock athletes to success.

Coach Bradi Rhoades (‘04 Alumni) and owner of “The Vault Shack” will act as the lead instructor of the SRU Pole Vault Camp! Coach Rhoades has been coaching pole vault at Westminster College for 17 years where he has accumulated 19 NCAA DIII All-Americans including the 2022 NCAA DIII National Champion (Emma Rudolph) and 2017 NCAA DIII National Champion (Marissa Kalsey). In 2017 Marissa Kalsey set the NCAA DIII National meet record at 4.22m (13’10”) which still stands today!

In 2020, Coach Rhoades built and opened The Vault Shack, LLC a pole vault training facility in Volant, PA. Since opening he has sustained between 65-75 athletes working with his staff per week. He has 6 coaches on staff at The Vault Shack and they will be joining him at Slippery Rock for this year's summer camp!

In addition to Coach Rhoades’s staff coming this summer we are excited to have Tim Tray, an SRU alumni ‘08, who also has opened a pole vault training facility called Vault Athletics, in North Huntingdon, PA.

The partnership between The Vault Shack and Vault Athletics is certainly unique and one of a kind! Bradi and Tim are extremely passionate about pole vaulting but are most passionate about helping coaches, parents, and athletes work collectively to keep it safe, keep it progressive, and keep it fun!!!
